Graduation Behind. Dedication Ahead.

Innovative Industrial Design graduate with a passion for conceptual development and product storytelling. Skilled in using Fusion 360 and Shapr3D as tools to visualize complex ideas, I seek a role where I can contribute fresh perspectives and creative problem-solving to new-generation consumer products.

Education

  • B.A. in International Studies—International Business, University of California, San Diego, U.S., 2023

  • M.A. in Industrial Design (In Progress), Academy of Art University, San Francisco, U.S.,

  • Capstone Project: "Relo" — ReLO: Designed a desktop recycling system that turns 3D-printing waste into reusable filament through a sealed multi-stage workflow (shredding, softening, extrusion, and spool automation). Focused on material behavior, usability, and safety standards for small studios and hobby makers.

  • Coursework emphasizes human-centered product design, material systems, and prototyping, with additional training in digital fabrication, ergonomics, and CMF development.

Experience

Industrial & Product Design Intern

Consumer Electronics Company— Mobile & Wearables Group, China, Summer · 2024

Worked on an unreleased wearable / phone-accessory project from early concept to complete proposal.

  • Generated concept sketches, 3D form studies, and usability mockups for daily-wear scenarios.

  • Built CAD models (Fusion 360 / Shapr3D) for design review and mechanical discussion.

  • Prepared KeyShot renders and presentation boards for weekly critiques with design leads.

  • Collaborated with engineers and project managers to balance aesthetics, ergonomics, and manufacturability under tight timelines.

Independent Product & 3D Printing Designer
San Francisco, CA · 2023–Present

  • Run a small 3D-printing and product design practice, focusing on functional objects and prototypes.

  • Design, model, and fabricate parts using FDM printers (PLA, PETG, TPU), optimizing prints for strength, surface, and support removal.

  • Develop self-initiated projects, such as ReLO (a desktop 3D-printing recycler) and small-batch home objects for online platforms (e.g., seasonal décor, utility tools).

  • Manage the whole pipeline from idea to physical output: cost estimation, print settings, finishing, and packaging.

Founder & Content Creator — Sneaker Review Channel “Jamejobs尚帝”
Online · 2015–Present

  • Test and review performance sneakers, focusing on fit, cushioning, and on-court experience.

  • Script, film, and edit long-form and short-form content that explains complex feelings and performance in an accessible language.

  • Built long-term skills in storytelling, visual framing, and communicating subtle physical sensations—skills that now inform product and furniture design narratives.

Skills

Industrial & Product Design

  • Form development, proportion studies, and CMF.

  • Human-centered design and behavior-focused problem framing.

  • Furniture and product prototyping in foam, wood, and 3D-printed parts.

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles.

CAD & Prototyping

  • Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Shapr3D.

  • 3D printing (Bambu Lab ecosystem): slicing, material tuning, multi-color workflows.

  • Basic mechanism design and assembly for small devices.

Visualization & Communication

  • KeyShot rendering, Photoshop / Illustrator layout.

  • Storyboarding, process documentation, and portfolio presentation.

  • Figma / Framer for simple interactive flows when hardware connects to digital experiences.

  • Ability to conduct comprehensive user research and usability testing.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and Framer.

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles.

  • Ability to conduct comprehensive user research and usability testing.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Projects

ReLO — Desktop Plastic Reuse System (Graduate Capstone)
Designed a sealed recycling system that turns 3D-printing waste into reusable filament for home users and small studios, focusing on safe airflow, user workflow, and small-scale material processing.

Zen Chair — Cross-Leg Meditation Chair
Created a meditation chair that embeds a starting ritual and stable cross-leg posture into its wooden Z-profile, making it easier for users to begin and maintain daily stillness.

Summit Cart — Follow & Dock Robotic Carrier
Developed a concept for a robotic cart that follows users, carries gear over rough terrain, and docks directly into a Jeep’s rear storage, smoothing the transition between walking, carrying, and loading.

Personal qualities

  • Strong ability to describe physical sensations and user experience in clear language.

  • Curious, hands-on designer who learns by building and testing.

  • Comfortable moving between sketching, CAD, workshop prototyping, and presentation.

  • Collaborative and reflective, open to critique and iteration over time.

Interests

  • Furniture and everyday tools that support real daily rituals (calm, focus, movement).

  • Additive manufacturing, recycling systems, and small-scale production.

  • Sneakers, basketball movement, and how the body interacts with products.

  • Electronic music and DJ culture as a lens for understanding rhythm, atmosphere, and experience design.
